Welcome!

WELCOME! This is a site created and maintained by Corte Madera citizens who have completed CERT training. It is intended to be a resource for people to communicate and share info on ways to prepare for a disaster.

The site includes a Discussion Forums tab for resources and discussions about topics that are useful to everyone. We also have a CERT Groups tab so each neighborhood can organize events and topics specific to their neighborhood. The Drills/Training/Events tab includes upcoming training events and drills useful to our teams.

Thanks for participating!

I was hiking on Mt. Tam, in and out of forests. I think I would have been fairly safe in most locations unless there was a landslide or a redwood tree fell on us.

I was on a treadmill at Bay Club. Was holding on and checked the area but did not get off. It would b a tough place 2 duck, cover and hold on--lots of mirrors and large windows, but. no heavy items up high or high shelving units 2 fall over on us.

Thanks, Kevin, for getting this up for CERT. How do we get the Town more involved? E.g, businesses, schools, town offices, banners, signs, etc etc.

This will be my 3rd year of ShakeOut.  Last year I was at a nursing continuing ed class and asked the instructor if we could all participate at the appointed time. She polled the class and there was very little interest.  Alas.

Weed Abatement/Chipper Weekend at Gravel Lot across from Norstrom

July 16, 2011 to July 17, 2011
The Fire Department will be conducting weed abatement inspections the week of June 26. We will conduct our re-inspections the week of July 24. Chipper week has been cut down to only a weekend this year. Those days will be July 16 and 17. I am going to hope for a mild fire season in Marin. Because we provide mutual aid to fire department in Marin and they cover us in times of need, one of the best things you can do to help quicken your 911 call is to have your address printed on the curb and on…See More
